Honkey Tonk Angel
I enjoy listening to old country tunes while I build sculpture. This is the chorus of one of my favorites:

“I didn’t know God made honky tonk angels.
I might have known you’d never make a wife. You gave up the only one who ever loved you.
And went back to the wilder side of life.”

Quite often I name a piece before it’s created, the words will paint a picture, story, or emotion which I translate into sculpture.

I like to present words as a tangible item for the viewer to see. The term “honky  tonk angel” piqued my fancy and I had pondered many a time what one would look like as an object.
